Laguna de los Tres and moonAdd to Cart Add to Lightbox Download
A brief respite from the incessant Patagonian wind allowed for a view of the moon and a partial reflection of Cerro Madsen on Laguna de los Tres at sunrise. Laguna de los Tres was named for the original party of 3 to successfully summit Mount FitzRoy which lies to the west of the glacier fed lake. The Andean peak is located in a disputed border region between Chile and Argentina, but most commonly accessed via the town of El Chalten and the Parque Nacional Los Glaciares on the Argentine side.
